Falls Police Department Criminal Investigation Division (CID) detectives have taken an unidentified man into custody as part of an investigation into a shooting on April 3. The apparent arrest followed the execution of a search warrant at a home in the 2700 block of 20th Street around 7 a.m. Monday. Another night of violence Sunday at the Walden Galleria. Responding officers found a crowd of roughly 100 people in the parking lot. Alexis Nelson, 23, of Buffalo and 27-year-old Latoya Cheatom of Buffalo were located by patrol officers and arrested for third-degree assault. The Amherst Town Board has approved a resolution that will now request New York State to allow a 2.5% bed tax on hotels. The bed tax allows for hotels and motels to collect an occupancy tax from visitors when they stay at hotels or motels in the area.The Niagara County Department of Health’s children with special needs division proudly announces the opening of a new sensory play room at the Trott Access Center in Niagara Falls.The Buffalo Sabres on Monday morning opened sales for the remaining standard admission tickets for the first round of the playoffs.
