A Sanborn man was sentenced to 22 years in prison for shooting and killing a 26-year-old man in Niagara Falls in June 2022. Gabriel Moyer, 24, had previously admitted to killing Keith Agee on June 4, 2022, pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter. The city of Buffalo announced on Monday that it has closed the sale of four parking ramps to the Buffalo Parking Authority, generating more than $60 million in revenue for the city. Buffalo receives $30 million of the money immediately. Sewer rates in Buffalo are set to go up slightly beginning in July, the Buffalo Sewer Authority said Tuesday. Starting Wednesday homeowners will be charged $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed value of their home. A multi-law enforcement agency investigation that began last fall has resulted with 13 people arrested and indicted on narcotics and firearms charges.The June 25 raid in Buffalo, Cheektowaga and North Tonawanda had police agencies finding caches controlled substances like cocaine and fentanyl along with large supplies of marijuana and firearms.U.S. Marshals are looking for two men who are considered armed and dangerous following a homicide in Puerto Rico, and one is wanted for allegedly violating supervised release conditions in Western New York, officials said. Ronald Aponte-Castillo, 39, and Jabdiel Cruz-Cartejena, 21, are wanted by U.S. Marshals following a homicide in Coamo, Puerto Rico on March 21. Both were last seen in Rochester, officials said.North Country Community College is hosting the Rail Trail Discovery Series, a new, five-week lineup of guided educational walks along the Adirondack Rail Trail. The free, public events will be held on Thursdays beginning July 16 and will feature local experts leading participants through hands-on explorations of art, ecology, wildlife and citizen science.According to the Olean Police Department, Saturday, June 20, at around 2:45 a.m., Nick Meyer was traveling on an e-bike near the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Queen Street. That’s when police said he was struck by a vehicle and the operator left the scene.

This comes despite Zellner having the backing of the Erie County Democrats, as well as a major fundraising advantage. “I was surprised, we were caught off-guard a little bit,” Zellner said. He believes many things impacted the election, including the progressive wave and low voter turnout, especially from the suburbs.A 14-year-old angler from Oakfield pulled a monster northern pike out of Tonawanda Creek on Friday — even in the pouring rain. Cody Pangrazio and his friend Aiden Downs were fishing near the waterfall by the courthouse when Cody cast a topwater spook lure and watched the pike come up and slam it. "I saw this monster pike swim up and slam it," Cody said. He estimated the fish at around 36 inches. He snapped a couple of photos before releasing it, not wanting to keep it out of the water too long.

According to Buffalo Police, officers responded to the intersection of Bailey Avenue and William Street shortly after 10 p.m. for a crash involving injuries. They were taken to ECMC for treatment. Western New York officials and M&T Bank announced a new initiative aimed at boosting Buffalo’s downtown on Thursday. “Meet Me Downtown” is a series of six downtown events beginning in July.Buffalo Place Inc. has cancelled the Thursday & Main June 25 concert due to forecasted rain and thunderstorms. Michael Ventry’s new business, Ventry Development and Rentals, wants to build four 10-bay storage buildings. Each building will feature 12,000 square feet of space.Niagara County Department of Public Works officials say the Feigle-Fisk Road Bridge over the Erie Canal in Pendleton will close on July 6 to continue the rehabilitation project that began last year.Message boards alerting motorist to the upcoming closure are already in place. Independence Day weekend is less than two weeks away, and one local law firm is helping to make sure Western New Yorkers celebrate safely. Niagara Falls police detectives and fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a Monday night fire on 8th Street that damaged two vacant homes. Emergency crews responded to the 700 block of 8th Street around 8 p.m. for the blaze. The Buffalo Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out on Mohr Street early Tuesday morning. According to officials, around 5:30 a.m., firefighters responded to 95 Mohr Street and found the two-story vacant home engulfed in flames. They've determined it's a case of arson. The Town of Niagara is moving to eliminate its two-tier property tax system and replace it with a single rate for both residents and business property owners. The historic Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief will return to Buffalo this Saturday after completing a statewide voyage marking the start of free public programming at Canalside.The Bills formally opened the new Highmark Stadium with a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning. The event follows three years of construction.
