As the New York State Electric and Gas Corporation seeks to raise utility bills, the New York State Public Service Commission has a set temporary rate that is lower than the proposed increase. Beginning on June 1, New York will allow a 3.7% revenue increase for NYSEG electric and a .5% increase for NYSEG gas.
