A Niagara Falls man is dead after his body was recovered from the river near Cayuga Creek early Friday evening, according to police. Police said investigators were following up on a missing person report in the area 87th Street and Buffalo Avenue around 6 p.m. Friday when the person was found dead in the water. At this time, police are only identifying the man as a 42-year-old resident of Niagara Falls. The investigation is ongoing.Law enforcement received a call around 12:19am on September 11th after reports of a hostage situation at a hotel on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Niagara Falls. The 911 caller, a third-party, advised dispatch that her friend called her and said she was “being held against her will” by a known male inside a hotel room. The victim further stated that the male had a gun and has been threatening to shoot her. He was beating her “for four days.”Law enforcement received a call around 5:42am on September 11th after reports of a domestic incident with injuries on Ferry Avenue in Niagara Falls.The 911 caller, a child, told dispatch that his stepfather had beat him with a flashlight. The child was waiting outside for police to arrive when the stepfather came outside and began chasing him. He chased him all the way to the area of 19th and Niagara Street. The child when screaming and out of breath when the call abruptly disconnected.The Buffalo Bills will play their first-ever regular-season game at the all-new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Thursday night, September 17. That event alone is expected to bring cars and traffic from all over Western New York to the Southtowns on Thursday afternoon.In fact, some schools will be closing early to help accommodate the additional traffic expected in the area.Rock the Country Festival Comes to Hamburg But there is even more traffic expected in the Southtowns this weekend.The highly anticipated Rock the Country music festival will be held at the Hamburg Fairgrounds, bringing thousands of additional people to the area.
